The Crossbar

The Crossbar is a pub that was opened in the summer of 2012 in Havertown, PA. It is owned by brothers Greg and Brendan Cox. They brought their vision to life after many months of hardwork and determination in the form of a neighborhood sports pub. The Cox brothers wanted their bar to have the exterior appearance of a traditional pub, with the interior an atmosphere that also appealed to the sports enthusiast. They wanted their concept to be a warm, friendly environment where the local and also nonlocal community can come to share a pint and and enjoy a game.

The exterior of the Crossbar boasts a gold and black façade, the interior exhibits a shiny mahogany bar and exposed brick walls. Visitors are met with a friendly staff as well as a variety of draft and bottled beers. The menu aims to serve the hungry sports fan with delicious starters and a variety of sandwiches that are guaranteed to serve any appetite.

In March of 2021, the Crossbar was happy to announce that their new kitchen was up and running. They were also excited to introduce their new Executive Chef, Sean Keenan. Prior to his start at the Crossbar, Sean Keenan was chef in some of the best restaurants and pubs in the Boston area. He worked with the award winning North Square Oyster, working with his long time mentor and friend Chef Pierce Bolt. Sean takes traditional pub fare to the next level with influences from the change of seasons and his travels from around the world. Sean’s Fish and Chips, Steak Frites, and New England Clam Chowder quickly became a favorite at the Crossbar.

Along with grabbing of pint of your favorite beer at the full bar, you can also sip on one of your favorite wines, or a mixed drink. From Cheesesteak Eggrolls to Charred Brussel Sprouts, there are a variety of starters available to choose from. The Crossbar menu also features burgers and sandwiches, as well as salads. The Crossbar also has two tables for their outdoor dining area. They are first come, first serve. Dogs are allowed in the outdoor dining area. Hours at the Crossbar may fluctuate. For detailed hours of operation, you can contact the pub directly at 610-449-4200, or check out their facebook page for latest announcements.
